Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 991)
Porsche builds the new 911 GT3 Cup on the same production line in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen as the penalty for road traffic. In the Motorsport Center Weissach he receives a base vote for the racetrack and is tested by a professional racer before delivery to the customers. The 911 GT3 Cup is the most built and best-selling racing car in the world, with more than 2,600 copies since 1998.
The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is powered by a 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine. Thanks to the weight-optimized, modular racing exhaust system, it delivers 460 hp (338 kW) at 7,500 rpm, ten more horsepower than the engine of its predecessor. The engine power is transmitted to the rear axle via a racing clutch and a six-speed claw transmission with mechanical limited slip differential developed by Porsche Motorsport. The gear changes take place for the first time in a one-make cup car from Porsche over shift paddles on the steering wheel.
